The Lost Man (Człowiek zagubiony) Another edition of the international artistic and research project “The Lost Man”, the core idea of which is the presentation of works in the field of printmaking and drawing by artists interpreting the phenomenon of human sensory overload in the contemporary world of new media. The project encourages artists and audiences to reflect on the modern perception of the world by individuals who today function in an environment saturated with an excessive amount of information and diverse external stimuli. This all-encompassing surfeit surrounding a human being is also a cause of living in a constant rush of thoughts, which haunt the individual in their daily life.

Currently, as a society, we are dominated by advanced technologies, social media, advertisements, and various sounds and images, through which we experience a continuous influx of new messages every day. In the long run, this process can lead to feelings of overwhelm, fatigue, and even total disorientation. The graphic and drawing works presented at the exhibition focus on the complexity of this experience, aiming to show the subjective feelings of an individual trying to understand themselves and the surrounding world in the context of omnipresent excess.

The exhibition features works by over 150 artists from Poland, the USA, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Ukraine, and Slovenia invited to participate in the project. The first edition of the project took place in March last year at the International Print Centre in Krakow. As part of this subsequent edition, workshop activities are also being carried out to introduce audiences of all ages to both traditional techniques and modern methods of artistic action.
